Skypark Adventure - Ch. 1

Hello everyone.

This is my second trip report, and my second great adventure in as many months since the breakup of my marriage. And I have to say that looking back now, that event was probably the best thing that could have happened to me, as it's brought about a chance to meet two wonderful groups of people who have inspired me, given me hope for the future, and above all...restored my confidence.

In September, I spent a weekend with the Frontier family on the commercial side of aviation. Now, on November 22, I was invited down to Bountiful Skypark, and spent all day around the small-plane aviation enthusiasts, the GA Junkies of Utah. and

Merrick Butte stands sentinel over Monument Valley, a place of surreal landscapes and towering walls of sandstone, which straddles the Utah/Arizona border.

This place has to be seen to be believed. One feels small, and appreciates the majesty of our planet while standing amidst such towering mesas, spires, walls of sandstone and wind-carved windows; all painted in beautiful desert colors which are amplified tenfold as the sun begins to set.

Monument Valley is, without a doubt, one of the top 10 most beautiful places on earth. You must see it in your lifetime.
